The Orienteering team competed at the area competition located at Shade’s Mills Conservation area located in Cambridge, Ontario on Saturday. The team consisted of Barnard, Loftman, Bossy, Betts, Linington, Forbes, and Kocis-Ristanovic.
The teams competed in a massive team score event, then as individuals running a line course. Teams had some difficulty during the morning as teams, missing a few scoring opportunities as well as getting disoriented on the course. However individually they performed better in the afternoon after becoming more familiar with the area.
The team managed to get a 2nd place male finish in the intermediate category for PO2 Loftman, we also obtained a 1st place male finish for the junior male category for MS Barnard! Considering this is only our second year competing I’m proud of the efforts of all of our team members.
